Diagnosis

Anteromedian propodeum with a rounded pit; dorsobasal hind coxae with a flattened smooth area to fit the enlarged supracoxal flange; head predominantly yellowish; midlobe of mesoscutum metallic bluish-green, bluish-purple or golden-green, sidelobes yellow to yellowish-brown; scutellum with a large median metallic bluish-green, bluish-purple or golden-green spot, otherwise yellow to yellowish-brown, occasionally predominantly dark and metallic; propodeum with plicae; fore wing with infuscate pattern, occasionally hyaline, with 13 admarginal setae, radial cell hairy; digitus missing in male phallobase. Similar to indigitus but with radial cell hairy and head wider (1.35X as wide as high).

Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago.

Biology

From gall midge (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) leaf pustule galls on Satyria sp. (Ericaceae) and Ficus sp. (Moraceae), petiole gall on Conostegia xalapensis (Melastomataceae) - gall maker is a Mompha sp. (Lepidoptera: Momphidae)), Mompha sp. gall on Conostegia pittieri, gall midge "bullet galls" on Inga vera (Fabaceae), gall midge mid vein gall on Piper hispidum (Piperaceae), leaf gall on Struthanthus (Loranthaceae), seeds (probably from Megastigmus sp. (Hymenoptera: Torymidae), P. Hanson personal comment) of Ilex pallida (Aquifoliaceae).
